Everything you need to know about Knockt — from commission math to billing to data security.
A commission tracking and field sales platform built specifically for field sales teams. Reps log sales from any phone browser; managers get a live dashboard with goals, teams, leaderboards, and commission calculated automatically — replacing the spreadsheet most teams run payroll from.
Yes. Door-to-door is exactly where Knockt started, and the whole product is built around how D2D teams actually get paid — tiered per-sale rates, install-based pay, setter/closer splits, and automatic clawbacks. It works just as well for any field sales team paid per deal (solar, fiber, pest control, roofing, alarm, HVAC), but if you're running a door-to-door crew off a spreadsheet, this is the commission software for you.
That's the point. Knockt is purpose-built to retire the commission spreadsheet — import your roster and sales history, and your ledger matches your old sheet from day one, then every sale after that calculates itself. No #REF! errors, no end-of-month rebuild, no payroll argument. Reps see their real numbers live instead of waiting for a file to be emailed around.
No. Knockt runs in any browser on any device — phone, tablet, or laptop. Reps open a link, log in, and start logging sales. Nothing to download, no App Store approval required.
Most teams are live in under 10 minutes. Create a workspace, pick your industry (which seeds your commission plan), add your reps, and you're tracking. If you have historical data to import, that adds another few minutes with our spreadsheet importer.
Yes — two ways. The live demo at /demo shows a fully-seeded workspace with real-looking data and no sign-in required. Or start a free workspace and get a 14-day Pro trial so you can run your actual team on it before deciding.
Upload your existing rep roster and sales history as a CSV or XLSX. Knockt maps the columns, validates the data, and shows you a preview before importing anything. Your ledger matches your spreadsheet from day one. For teams that want hands-on help, we offer a Concierge Migration service — we do the import for you.
Tiered per-sale rates with milestone bonuses, install-based pay (split or deferred — e.g. 30% at sale, 70% at activation), setter/closer splits, manager team overrides (a % of team production), and ad-hoc spiffs. Most field-sales comp structures are a combination of these — Knockt handles all of them in the same ledger.
You configure a clawback window (e.g. 90 days from sale date). When a deal cancels inside that window, Knockt automatically reverses the commission in the ledger. Every accrual and clawback is recorded as an immutable entry — nothing is deleted, only offset — so the audit trail is always clean. Reps can flag a disputed entry; managers resolve it with a note.
Yes. This is install-based or multi-trigger pay. Set any payout schedule per deal: 100% on sale, 100% on install, or a custom split (like 30% at sign, 70% at activation). Knockt shows each rep their earned vs. pending commission breakdown in real time.
When two reps work a deal together — one sets the appointment, one closes it — you can attribute both on the same sale with a split percentage. Each rep sees their share of the commission on their dashboard, and both sides appear as separate ledger entries.
Yes. You can update your comp plan at any time. Knockt recalculates all affected commissions against the new rules immediately. You can also lock a plan period if you want the old rates to stay in place for sales before a certain date.
Export a CSV of the commission ledger with per-rep totals and line-item breakdown. The format is designed to map directly into ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks, or any payroll system that accepts a spreadsheet upload.
Yes. Every pay period produces a per-rep itemized statement — tier commission, spiffs, milestone bonus, new-hire ramp, and any clawbacks, then the net — built straight from the append-only commission ledger. Managers can download a rep's branded PDF or email each rep their statement (individually or the whole team at once) from Payroll, and every statement carries a line confirming it ties out to the actual paycheck, to the cent.
Two ways. Every commission change is recorded as an immutable, signed ledger entry — corrections are new offsetting rows, never edits — and each row carries a tamper-evidence signature, so a manager can confirm no past entry's money was altered. On top of that, Knockt reconciles your reported earnings against payroll on every close and shows a 'matches payroll, to the cent' check on Reports, so you can see the books tie out instead of taking it on faith.
Yes. When a cancelled sale reverses a rep's commission, the rep is notified plainly — the amount, and whether the cancel fell inside their clawback window — with a one-tap path to review or dispute it. A clawback is never silent.
Yes — unlimited managers on Pro. Each manager gets the full dashboard view and can be assigned to one or more teams. Team-level rankings and manager override comp (% of team production) are built in.
Two ways: you add them manually (name + optional email → they get a set-password link), or you share a join link that reps use to self-register. Self-joined reps land in a pending state and need manager approval before they can access the dashboard.
Reps see the leaderboard (which shows rankings and sales counts) but not each other's exact commission dollar amounts. Each rep only sees their own full earnings breakdown.
You can disable the rep's account, which blocks login but preserves their full sales and commission history in the ledger. Their records stay accurate for payroll and audit purposes.
Up to 5 reps, 1 manager, live dashboard and leaderboard, mobile sale logging, and basic tiered commission. You get a read-only view of the commission ledger so you can see how clawbacks and adjustments work before upgrading.
Monthly, both paid plans bill per ACTIVE rep — a rep who logs at least one sale that billing month — so benched reps cost nothing and managers don't count toward the seat price. Team is $22/active rep/mo and adds the full commission ledger reps can see and dispute, reporting, roster import, and payroll export on top of tiered commission; Pro is $40/active rep/mo and adds the full engine — install-based & split payout, automatic clawbacks, setter/closer crediting, new-hire ramp, custom add-ons, and CRM install-sync. Prefer to pay yearly? Annual plans lock in a committed seat count at a 17% discount ($18/seat/mo for Team, $33/seat/mo for Pro, billed once a year) — you set the seat count and adjust it any time.
Full Pro access for 14 days — unlimited reps, the complete commission engine, import, export, and reporting. No credit card required to start. At the end of the trial, you add a card to keep Pro or you automatically stay on the Free tier.
Yes. A Team workspace can upgrade to Pro in-app from Settings → Billing — it's prorated and takes effect immediately, unlocking the full engine (setter/closer splits, automatic clawbacks, new-hire ramp, and CRM install-sync) with no sales call. You can switch your billing between monthly and annual the same way.
Yes. Cancel from Settings → Billing at any time. You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period, then move to the Free tier with your data intact.
All major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — processed securely by Stripe. We never store card details ourselves.
A one-time paid service ($299) where we import your historical rep roster and sales data into Knockt for you — including column mapping, validation, and up to 2 years of history. Delivered within 2 business days.
Yes — your reps, sales, and customers are never visible to other companies. Every server request is scoped to your own workspace, with database row-level security policies as a defense-in-depth backstop, and the keys that can read across workspaces are server-only and never exposed to the browser.
Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) on AWS infrastructure in the United States. The application runs on Vercel's global edge network. Both providers maintain SOC 2 compliance.
Yes. Payroll CSV export is available on paid plans, and a full workspace data export from Settings now includes your complete money record — the commission ledger, every pay-period statement, payouts, and disputes — not just sales, so the proof of every cent is yours to keep. Reps can export their own pay history too. If you ever cancel, you have 30 days to request a full export before data is deleted.
Yes — TOTP-based 2FA (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) is available to every manager and rep in Settings → Security. On Pro, managers can require it for the whole workspace.
